Scans From the Family, on flickr
Aren't those cool?
Anyhow, I have picked a few of my favorites thus far, and I also have the complete set at the end. Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions!
From left to right, this is Joni (my Aunt), Bessie (my great grandmother (Grandpa's Mom)), Gretchen (my Mom), and George W. (my great grandfather (Grandpa's Dad)). He was a civil engineer, and I think this was taken at their home in Rockport, IN.
This is me in the swing thing in my first year. My mom, Gretchen, is on the left, my grandpa, Jack, is behind me, and my aunt Joni is on the right. Gretchen and Joni are my grandparents' kids.
This one is very special to me - as I think this is the only image we have of my grandpa Jack on his first tour of duty in the Marine Corps in China in 1948. I'll write more about this later, but I think it's a great (if blurry) shot.
This is my mom looking super cute with her Scout haircut!
My grandpa Jack (on the far left of the front row) after High School Football practice in Rockport.
This is my family on the day my mom and dad got married. L to R, Wanda (Grandma), Gretchen (Mom), David (Dad), Joni (Aunt), Jack (Grandpa). Nice giant bowties!
I loved caves as a kid, and so here I am, in a cave.
Here's a gallery of the rest of the images, enjoy!
I love Jenn's photos - it awakens the journalist in me!
ReplyDeleteAnd I swear that your mother was the inspiration for Scout in the movie version of "To Kill A Mockingbird". So dang cute.
So neat. I love the idea of scanning old family photos. I was just speaking about our genealogy with my dad over the long weekend. There is a lot to be uncovered still!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your photos! You were a very cute baby. :)
