Arkansas Update, V.2

Hello readers!

Well, due to some spotty free wifi here at the apartment, I am able to give you an update from the chilly hills of northwest Arkansas! It's hard to believe that it has been five days since we sent an update your way from up here, but the AT&T Uverse technicians don't arrive until the 13th, so our internet is in and out - other than the iPhones we brought with us. Fortunately, Jen brought her laptop and so I sat down and found some free wifi we can use for the time being. I still will say we'll be pretty much off the grid until the 13th, though.

Since the last update, we flew back to Fort Worth to meet the movers - this was an incredibly busy time for us - probably the busiest we have been thus far. I have also been sick with a cold during all of this - which made things a bit more difficult. That said, things have gone (for the most part) pretty well. The movers came and packed up all of the stuff we didn't pack on Thursday, and loaded everything but our bed onto the truck that day. They returned Friday for the bed and to get what little stuff we had left in storage onto the truck. Our stuff should arrive Monday - but it is supposed to snow early in the week!

Speaking of the weather, it is super cold here! I suppose that I knew this from checking the weather on my phone (and Jen doing the same thing) but it was just a number. It is cold here, though! Fortunately, the new place is very tightly sealed and super efficient so we are nice and warm while using just a wee bit of energy. It's neat to see your breath in the air, and smell the trees and that smell of winter (I love that so much).

I think the best thing this week has been introducing Cosby to his new home. He is such a trooper - we loaded up Kermit (my new Honda Insight) and drove about 9 hours with him in the car. We were both worried about this, but he did very well - he meow-ed for about the first hour, then he slept most of the rest of the way. He'd check in with a meow now and then, and we would talk back to him - but he did really well. Of course, the first few hours in the new place were tense for him, but I am happy to report that the three of us are quite comfortable in the new place, as you can tell from this video and photo:

Well, I suppose that's the short version - all is well, and we are looking forward to furniture Monday, and internet Thursday! Stay warm!!

  2. So glad you guys made it and that Cosby took the trip well.
He looks like he is getting used to the new place although the
video leaves the impression that he is wanting a milk cocktail and
a comfy place to enjoy it. :) Hope the furniture arrives on Monday
    as planned!
